Top 5 Beauty Picks of the Week

Top 5 Beauty Picks of the week

Top 5 Beauty Picks of the week by greenvogueglam featuring yves saint laurent makeup

1. La Laque Couture - 47 Feuille D'Or
Now if that name doesn't convince you to buy this little wunder nail polish, nothing will. I'm not one to swoon over a nail polish (call it La Laque if you will), but this little thing is seriously gorgeous. It has a very serious price but would make for an awesome birthday gift for a girlfriend.

2. Full Metal Shadow - 10 Wet Blue
I think ever since the little Kardashian brought us the miracles of the K-line, we are all seriously obsessed with little bottles of everything. This metal blue is perfection, super creamy, blends like there's no tomorrow, averages around 30€ but you get a good amount of product and is definitely a must for this fall/winter. For a brunette like myself, the color is very flattering.

3. Volupte Tint-In-Oil - 11 Love Me Nude
This is a lipgloss to all effects but there is something about the packaging, the scent, the way in which it's so rich yet totally not sticky, I'm hooked. If you're not one to use lipstick or such, you might want to try this luxe lipgloss.

4. Vernis a Levres Vinyl Cream - 407 Carmin Session
Has there ever been a more incredibly attractive little bottle? I look at this liquid lipstick and it looks like something a dominatrix would have in her latex purse and obsessively put on between spanking sessions. It is lusty, rich, very pigmented, long lasting, non-drying, marvellously varied and averagely priced. I already want 3.

5. Full Metal Shadow The Mats - 13 Velvet Beige
It's the matt eyeshadow we have all being waiting for. I've seen matt eyeshadows before but they always made me go "Nah". This product is the perfect mix of matt and fab and has all the great characteristics of Number 2 from my list with the added bonus that it's a limited time collection with only three colors. You have to hand it to them, they really know how to create frenzy. I've already bought this one and will be sharing some looks on Insta.

Xmas Fashion Wishlist

Xmas Fashion Wishlist

I've had my eye on a few fashion items to wish for for this Christmas.

1. Zara Leather Skirt. I love A line skirts and this black suede number is right up my alley. I've been eyeing for a while and am hoping somebody will gift me one this Christmas. I can definitely see myself wearing this with my leather over the knee boots and a black cashmere sweater. Burgundy lips and I'll be the happiest chicest blogger on the planner.

2. Zara Lace Top. I haven't yet decided if and how I would wear this, but with all the hype behind lace and skimpy little numbers to wear in broad daylight, I'd give it a try. Worst case scenario I will relegate it to my bedroom, much to Mystery's delight.

3. Apricot Burgundy Long Sleeve Knit Dress from newlook.com. It's festive yet easy to wear, comfy yet dressy. Do I need to add that it's under 40$? Definitely wish list material!

4. Zara Masculine Coat. They call it masculine, I call it perfect. I've tried this one on one of my many Zara excursions. It looks and feels very luxurious despite being around 130€. The material looks super nice, the cut is exceptional and all in all an awesome little coat to throw some of your hard earned career girl money on. Or point a boyfriend or mother in its direction and that does the trick as well!

5. Nira Leather Biker Jacket from Reiss. I've saved the best for last. It's also the most expensive. You'll need more than 600€ for this baby, but I have to say I fell in love as soon I saw it! The color, the leather, the bikerness, the idea of wearing it with a glitter dress and sky high pumps. I need this jacket. So do you!

As you can see, my obsession for Zara is quite obvious.

TechGirl Xmas Wishlist

TechGirl Xmas Wishlist

If you're anything like me, you'll see Christmas as a time to express crazy wishes. My uniquely around Christmas wishes always include some technology.
Whether it's a new camera lens or an insanely intuitive milk frother, I love'em all!

So I'm bringing you a Christmas wish list fit for any tech girl out there.

1. LuguLake Teapot Ceramic Electric Kettle from amazon.com. This is such a pretty product. Since giving up coffee a few months back, I've practically become best friends with my kettle, but it's no way as cute as this one. Extra bonus? It's ceramic, so super easy to clean.
Perfect as a gift.

2. Macbook Pro. Best tool for blogging. Not much why to give you except that I should really get a new one and the new Retina screen just blows my mind. I want one. You want one. Your boyfriend wants one. Heck, even your 80 year old upstairs neighbour might want one.

3. ghd Platinum Styler. When it comes to getting our hair straight, curl, wavy or any other way one might want to be, there nothing better than the ghd. And since they are in the 3 digit price range, I'm putting this article on my wish list. Go over to ghd.com and chose yours.

4. Apple iWatch. Does this even need an introduction? If you're alive and breathing, you've undoubtedly seen the Apple ads where they explain so well why we can't live without one anymore. I want mine to be pink. It's an awesome tool and super handy for a tech girl whose phone always sits snug at the very bottom of her very large tote.

5. Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 White Instant Camera. This little gem is the perfect gift for any girlfriend or wife. It has a decent price, it takes mini pictures, develops them within seconds, is nice and compact and looks super stylish and you can find it in several colors, all adorable. I've been wanting one of these since my birthday and I'm quietly hoping Mystery is reading this post right now and I'll find one under the tree on Christmas. :P

So what technology are you hoping for this Christmas?

Glitter Snow Bunny For Christmas

Snow Bunny For Christmas

Hey little sinisters!

With Christmas fast approaching, I've started to think about Christmas and New Year's outfits, and everything in between.
You wil agree with me that this is the year of glitter. We've seen it everywhere from shoes to bags, tops to pants. It's on our eyelids and nails, in our hair from DIY and definitely in our head.
I'm so excited about wearing a pleiad of glitter outfits these holidays and I've selected three different dresses that I'll be drawing inspo from.

I love red glitter and this spaghetti strap number is sure to make heads turn wherever you decide to wear it! It would also look really well with a faux fur shawl or jacket on top and a pair of black suede over the knee boots.

The gold one is just plain gorgeous and I have to say it reminds me of a slightly more festive Herve Leger type dress. Uuu. Will google that immediately and make a list of potential dresses for these holidays. The pattern in which the glitter is laid is super flattering for any body type and the color will flatter any skin type. Pair it with high heeled sensation shoes (maybe red or silver) and cover everything up in a white wool coat. Definitely a show stopper.

The black long sleeved mini is by far the most versatile. The glitter is subtle and if you have to go to your in-laws for Christmas dinner this will do the trick. It's covered enough to make it proper, yet stylish enough to make a statement. I'm currently having one just like this made especially for that occasion and I'm planning to wear it with sheer tights and ankle booties and Guerlain's red lipstick. Bouncy waves for my hair and my grandma's antique brioche will complete my look.
Of course, if you opt to wear this to a party, put on some dark sheer tights (if possible the one's with the back seam visible) and silver or cold super high pumps and a smokey eye and you're going to be smoking hot. Or should I say, glittering hot?

Kiss and Peace

P.S. All the dresses are from johnlewis.com and they range from 360€ to 540€.

Budget Friendly Beauty Xmas Wishlist

Budget Friendly Organic Beauty Xmas Wishlist

I have to say that beauty wish lists are quickly becoming a December fav.

1. Mirenesse Secret Weapon Supreme 24Hr Mascara. If for nothing else, this mascara had me for the extremely glam packaging. It also comes in deep dreamy blue which I'll never buy because I'm a chicken. It promises the longest of lashes and volume galore. This website has a ton of wonderful stuff and an interesting VIP member plan where you get their stuff a lot cheaper and you also get regular gifts.
(19 €)

2. Neve Cosmetics Unicornbuki. Anything that has unicorn in its name is bound to be plain adorable. This is so tenfold. It's a cute, quirky and great priced possible gift for any girlfriend, sister, mom, fellow blogger and yourself. My order is already in.
Did I tell you they're cruelty free, vegan, made in Italy and cheap? Get it while you can still find one.
(13 €)

3. Max Factor Creme Puff Blush. Despite being a drugstore beauty product, I'm head over heals with this little gem. It's ingredients are just fine, the price is more than fair, the colors are to die for and it also lasts a decent noun of time. Definitely something to keep in mind if you're going to be someone's Secret Santa. My favorite color is "Seductive Pink" because it looks just fine with or without a tan.
(13.50 € / 15 $)

4. Inika Vegan Lip Stick. I find it super difficult to commit to organic lipsticks because high end brands make their packaging so super luxe, my eyes outweigh my brain. So when I find a lipstick that not only is organic, but looks good, wears marvellously and costs more or less half the price of a Dior lipstick, I'm buying it. This Inika Vegan Lipstick in the shade "Orchid Fields", which I found over on Ecco Verde is a must for this year's letter to Santa.
(23 €)

5. Neve Cosmetics Blushissimi Blush and Contour Palette. I love all contour palettes out there, but this vegan, organic variation on the classic high end palettes is a wonderful thing to gift or be gifted. I personally own their pressed powder foundation and it never feels too cake, never upsets my skin and I could swear it helped heal a light breakout I got from testing a Guerlain foundation. I can only imagine how wonderful this product is. I'm hopefully going to get it for Xmas and so should you!
(23 €)

Hope you're enjoying my Xmas wish lists!

Sephora Luxe Beauty Xmas Wishlist

Sephora Xmas Beauty Wishlist

Hey Sinisters,

Are you ready for #blogmas?
I am very excited to start blogging regularly again and apologise for the MIA.

Soooo...

Let's start off with a Xmas Wishlist.
I'm a big fan of Sephora and I buy a whole lot of things there so my first wishlist blog post is all Sephora everything.

1. Dior Addict Fluid Stick in the shade "Wonderland". It's the dreamiest of pinks, super shinny, relatively non-sticky and quite long-lasting. Would so love one of these!
( 34 €/$)

2. bareMinerals Seamless Buffing Brush. This super sleek brush has synthetic bristles and an antibacterial treatment, it's super soft and the perfect gift for a sis, best friend or your mom.(26 €/$)

3. Dior Diorific Lipstick in the shade "Diorama". Well, if there is one expensive lipstick I'm wishing I'll find under my tree, it's this one. I'm in love. Tried and tested thanks to Sephora, it's long-lasting, super soft and ultra nourishing. And those colors! (insert me all googley eyes)
( 37 €)
(unfortunately, I've only seen this lipstick on Sephora's EU sites so I don't know what the availability for the US will be)

4. TooFaced Cocoa Contour Chiseled to Perfection. I've already raved about this product in one of my Friday Fav Five posts. I am in love! I actually don't have any contour kits (gasp - I'm out in the open now) so this is definitely on my Xmas Wishlist. I think this would make for a great gift for any girlfriend, wife or even mom. Not mine, who doesn't get contouring (and all the contour craze), but definitely some other moms.
(38 €) (if you like it, hurry up - it's limited edition and selling out fast)

5. Let it Snow Sephora Mini Multicolour Bath Pearls. This is so going under my mom's tree. I think it's absolutely adorable, the whole line is. And it smells like snow and vanilla cookies.
It could definitely also work if you're someone's Secret Santa.
( 5.99 €)

First #blogmas post done!
Let me know what you think.

Fall/Winter Essentials: The Denim Overall

Fall/Winter Essentials: The Denim Overall

You know the summer in over when your job comes knocking at the door.

I'm taking going back to work in a stride because I've been fantasising about a few Fall/Winter items I feel (to be read: I don't need but will somehow end up purchasing nonetheless) I should add to my wardrobe.

One of them is a denim overall. Or pinafore. Or romper. I get lost in all the names.

So here you go. One denim marvel. Two styles. Follow the link back to Polyvore if you want to find out the prices and websites I took these from.

Fall/Winter Essentials: The Cape

Fall/Winter Essentials: The Cape

Fall/Winter Essentials: The Cape by greenvogueglam

Hello Fall/Winter Season!

As soon as my birthday is over it could practically snow and I couldn't be bothered. I am a fall person. I relish the golden hues of falling leaves and the fuzzy warm feeling of cashmere sweaters.
Fashion goes back to being a game of puzzle where one has to find the perfect pieces and put them all together in a snug fit.

My fav F/W essential right now?
*Trumpets*
The cape.

I especially love this abominably expensive Valentino cape that I shall not name the price. But it looks amazing. Both styles would look great for a work day or a day out roaming the city.
Your pick.

P.S. the black fringed Sara Battaglia bag was on my Bday list but Mystery said he didn't like it.
*raised eyebrow* really? like really?
Looks like I'll have to just gift myself yet another bag.

Kid mood

Kid mood

Kid mood by greenvogueglam

"- I'm feeling pretty kiddy today.
 - You, Miss Sinister, are not a kid. Since you do not belong to a milky white goat and I believe you were not born on some alpine pasture, you do not frolic and you do not butt and bite. You, if anything, are a child."

I was playing around on Polyvore when this very real conversation came back into my head from my high school days arguing (please read this as "having a slightly different opinion on English drama") with my English Literature Professor who never truly accepted that the English language had so successfully propagated itself onto foreign lands where it had wildly mutated into so many different variations. She was profoundly adamant to do something with my accent and with all things American that came out of my mouth, including my exaggerated use of "-ish" to create adverbs and adjectives.
A kid is a mini goat, the baby goat. So it would crack me up how every time I would say something she would make it her business to etymologically correct me and show me the exact nature of my wrongs.
She didn't used to call Miss Sinister, but she did call us Miss + Last Name.
Oops. I did it again. Miss + Surname.

:)
Such fun my heart yet needs to find in the surrounding reality that succeeded high school.
Some kiddo inspiration today for all you kids out there!

P.S. She did manage to inspire a lifelong passion for etymology in me so apparently not all is lost with the quirky little American sounding Romanian.

Martian Summer Heat

Summer Heat

Summer Heat by greenvogueglam

I don't know about you, but I am steadfastly melting. The air is hot, the iced drinks last for less than 2 seconds, the ground feels like something one might feel when on vacation on Mars, and clothes have become unbearable.
As I write this, I am literally dying in my undies. Please excuse my bloggeristic nakedness.
With this cataclysmic weather in mind, I managed to put together an apocalyptic inspiration set that contains some of the basic things I would need to feel better:
- a Cosmo. Iced. Served. Keeping it coming.
- some ice-cream. Potentially whole.
- some Bvlgari earrings. One does need to stay fresh in many ways.
- flowers. That don't wilt and die within 5 minutes of entering my sauna like house.
- a new bag. For no reason. It's just sales season.

What do you need during this ridiculous heat wave?

Summer Blues

Summer Blues

Summer Blues by greenvogueglam featuring pop art

Cynthia Rowley blue dress, €350 / Lilly Pulitzer clothing / Chiara Ferragni platform shoes, €265 / Cynthia Rowley backpacks bag, €175 / Oscar de la Renta flower necklace, €320 / Dangle charm / Borsalino summer hat, €300 / Tech accessory, €31 / Oliver Gal Artist Co pop art, €175 / SmilingShoes.com / SmilingShoes.com

Good morning everybody!
The warm weather and my ever-growing wish for a seaside escape inspired me to create this set.
I've just discovered a bunch of Romanian designers I never knew existed and in light of my travelling there next week for some family celebrations (yup, I'm going to be eating my weight in sweets for a week straight), I was considering paying them a visit and buying a few things.
The red sandals that are just peeping under the heading and the white fringed bag are just an example of the awesomeness of SmilingShoes.com (Romanian brand that delivers everywhere! Yay!) Their sandals are beautifully crafted and in a wide array of colors, not to mention that no more than a couple go for more than 100€.
I will keep you posted about anything I buy from them.

I also have to upload some pics of my new shades. :) I'll keep mum for the moment.

Last but not least, are you just as obsessed with straw hats as I am? I saw this awesome Borsalino one that had a decent price and I know they tend to last a lifetime. But unfortunately, I forgot about it for the rest of my trip to Milan and now I don't know if I should order it online since I haven't tried it on. Hmmm.

Anyway, will come back with some extra pics from Milan shortly.

Jungle Fever

Good morning!
Had a bit of fun on Polyvore, mixing my new obsession, the grey sweater in the centre from Romanian designer Ioana Ciolacu. I went for a jungle feel and this came out.
I think it's missing some pants but couldn't find anything that I liked so...

Gluten-Free Rainbow Checkerboard Cake + Easter talk

Easter.
I finally got to unveil my Checkerboard Cake.

A cake in the making

Gluten-free Rainbow Checkerboard Cake part 2

Gluten-free Rainbow Checkerboard Cake part 3

I had so much fun making this and honestly, apart for the decorating part, I found this to be very easy recipe.
You can find the recipe over on MyCupcakeAddiction and it's pretty much the ingredients in the first picture at the top x 2 for a full 6 layer cake.
Some worthy advice:
1. Use a pre-made cake mix. Trust me, trying to get a cake just right, rainbow and checkerboarded is too much for any holiday.
2. Mix the batter in a Kitchen Aid. Don't go crazy an play the perfect 50's housewife that can do it all. Also, mix one batch at a time. This should produce 3 layers.
3. Bake the layers three at a time. Remember they take less time to bake because they are thin.
4. I used a simple simple buttercream for the filling (250 g butter + 500 g sugar + about 100 g of cream cheese - all lactose free), put it between the layers a day before serving the cake and wait a hefty 6 hours before thinking that the cake will never hold and hence panic (this is basically what I did)
5. Cover the cake with either whipped cream(Chantilly cream) or buttermilk cream and/or fondant like I did. But make sure you know which one you are using beforehand and be prepared for double or even triple layers before the cake actually is covered. I wasn't hence I panicked yet again.
6. Decorate with simple, potentially pre-made decorations or be prepared to curse every Cake Boss episode you've ever seen. I did that but in the end the cake looked nice.
7. Don't give away the surprise! That's the best part!

I have to say I was super duper proud of myself for pulling off a difficult cake and actually making it gluten-free AND lactose-free much to the surprise of my family.
Mission accomplished I might say.

Easter was fabulous. Lots of Italian food, artichokes in particular, I have been cultivating a deep relationship with this oh-so-Italian vegetable. We had a wonderful time and missed my mom terribly because she couldn't join us. Next week will be Easter Part 2 especially for mom.

Easter was also "Unveiling the New Shoes Day" so tada!
Cue leather lace-ups with a bright white wedge that make me feel like Gulliver in Lilliput, but I have to say they are beyond comfortable. So you should get used to these shoes because you will be seeing me in them quite a lot.

The little monster got in some pics either directly participating or distracting me.

Pink Marylin Monroe print T-shirt
Bershka white jeans
New wedge lace-ups (I have to remember to put the name up)

Do you like pyjama pants?

Wednesday Magic

Wednesday Magic by greenvogueglam featuring patterned pants

Everywhere I look nowadays I see pyjama-style silk pants fluttering on every type of body imaginable and in combined wildly with the most unthinkable accessories. And I love it!
Ever since I bought my first light blue and white linen pyjama style pants two years ago in Positano (mental post-it:must take a pic and post it here), I have been secretly wishing everybody would just get on board with wearing pyjama pants.
And low and behold, everybody had been craving and wishing for the same thing because last year and this year more than ever, long, flow, unflattering yet totally fabulous pyjama style pants are everywhere.

I haven't yet pulled my linen ones out from the summer boxes and yes, I have boxes to store summer attire because if not, I would wear everything all the time and people are weird about doing that here in Italy. You're supposed to wear winterables and then summerables and don't mix them or they'll stare you down with their innate, unattainable fashion sense right back to whatever foreign country you came from. Gotta love'em!

Yesterday I woke really early (damn you Wednesday), grabbed my brand-new, bought on sale Bershka black and white pyjama-style pants, a crisp white  Dolce&Gabbana shirt, my worn-out purple Converse sneakers and a very old H&M jeans jacket that I refuse to part with.
No make-up (it was either the make-up or the yoga, I chose the latter), took 5 pictures and went to work asap.

Last evening I got inspired to create the set at the top of the page.
It's a slightly different take on what I wore yesterday but I love it. I should have posted this yesterday, but I had dinner with Mr. Mystery and got sidetracked by his adorable self.
It also made me think I need to get a pair of white sneakers, like yesterday.

Spring showed up - Beauty Products Review

It's all about the flowers

It's all about the flowers by greenvogueglam

Finally woke up to a sunny, wonderful, Italian morning.
Apparently spring has decided to show up.
I sun saluted, had breakfast, went for a run and had a shower.

I've always been secretly obsessed with body products in general and soap in particular.
I'm always on the look for new scented, magical, potentially organic and handmade soaps.
I have a friend of mine here in Italy that makes them for herself and occasionally drops me some (thanks Georgia), but I generally buy them.

The two soaps above, the Florida quartet and the Alighiero Campostrini fan are two finds from the Cosmoprof (never-ending) experience.
These are both Italian brands with a similar take on producing soap. That is handmade, olive oil enhanced, naturally scented, awesomely packaged type of soap. I've been using both (the Strawberry one from Florida and the Rose&Neroli one from Alighieri Campostrini) for a about a week now and I have to say I love them!!! They don't over-dry, they leave a light scent on my skin (that usually gets killed by my creams and lotions but hey, that's life)
I'm also thinking of using their packaging for some sort of collage but I will have to come back with that later.

Their prices are really good (around 5$/6€) and they can be found on
Try them and let me know.

Another thing I wanted to tell you about is this body foam that I bought from Greenland Bodycare (yes, I know, the name made me stop and awww).
It isn't a butter or a lotion or whatever other concoction we girls love to spend our money on.
This is a foam. Imagine a can of whipped cream. Squeeze it. You get a airy, fluffy mass of delicious whip cream.

Look at this.

This is the body foam I bought.
It's Papaya&Lemon, smells fantastic (and lasts forever), has a shimmery glittery something to it that I adore (damn you Cavalli for not producing shimmery glittery body creams anymore), is generously sized (200 ml and you don't need to use a lot of it), doesn't make me feel sticky or buttery but still gives me velvety skin.
I paid 14 €....buuuuuut I've just noticed it's not yet on sale on their ships-worldwide website.

It's a new product and will probably be available sometime soon so I definitely recommend it for the summer since it's so non-sticky, scented and overall awesome.

If you find it online before I do drop me a line so that I can post it up here.

I also bought their hand cream and gave it to my mom and she says it's really nice too. It's the one in the picture at the top.

By the way, I've just become completely Polyvore obsessed. It feels like college all over again with hours and hours of collage making on Polyvore.
Warning: I will be badgering you with these for at least a few weeks until I go into regression.

Kiss and Peace
